Tree in the City

This one’s my favourite composition, it’s the most simple of facades, with small windows and jali openings all peeping into the lively street of Chaura Rasta, one that connects the City Place Gate and The Albert Hall Museum.

It’s beautiful to see the sky colour come in contrast with the brick pink of the building, which is hiding behind the tree. I never thought simple rectangles and ellipses could make me so happy. Both the building and the tree have lived their share of lives, and are interacting like two old friends having a conversation.

The evenness of the watercolours and the layers build to create the tree adds charm and calm to the overall composition and makes you wanna look at it a little longer.
